Inspired by Donald E. Westlake’s novel Memory, The Actor follows Paul Cole (played by Holland), a man stranded in a mysterious small town with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. Stripped of his identity, Paul must rebuild his life from nothing, navigating a world that feels both familiar and alien.
In his search for stability, Paul finds solace in Edna (Chan), a local costume designer. Their relationship offers him a fragile sense of belonging, but as fragments of his past resurface, he is torn between the life he’s creating and the one he left behind.
