From Academy Award-nominated director Duke Johnson and executive producer Charlie Kaufman comes an unforgettable cinematic odyssey. Starring André Holland and Gemma Chan.

Inspired by Donald E. Westlake’s novel Memory, The Actor follows Paul Cole (played by Holland), a man stranded in a mysterious small town with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. Stripped of his identity, Paul must rebuild his life from nothing, navigating a world that feels both familiar and alien.

In his search for stability, Paul finds solace in Edna (Chan), a local costume designer. Their relationship offers him a fragile sense of belonging, but as fragments of his past resurface, he is torn between the life he’s creating and the one he left behind. The deeper he digs, the more unsettling his reality becomes—time is elusive, faces seem untrustworthy, and even his own memories deceive him.

The Actor explores the fragility of self-identity, posing a chilling question: If memory defines who we are, what happens when it disappears? In this psychological drama, the line between truth and illusion blurs, leaving Paul—and the audience—grappling with what’s real.
