Capcom brought the Blue Bomber back into the spotlight at The Game Awards 2025 with the official reveal of Mega Man: Dual Override. Marking the twelfth mainline entry in the legendary series, the new action platformer is set to launch in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
The reveal trailer showcased classic side-scrolling action infused with fresh ideas, signaling a bold evolution for the franchise while staying true to its roots.
Capcom is also inviting the community to get involved with a special boss design contest. Players will have the chance to help Dr. Wily create a brand-new Robot Master that will appear in Mega Man: Dual Override. Full contest details are available on the official website.
The 2027 release coincides with the 40th anniversary of Mega Man, which debuted in 1987 and has since sold over 43 million units worldwide across games, comics, TV series, and more.
