HoYoverse is closing out the year with a major milestone for Zenless Zone Zero. Version 2.5, “To Be Fuel for the Night,” launches December 30 and delivers the climactic finale of Season 2 alongside a wave of new content, optimizations, and celebratory rewards.
Headlining the update is Ye Shunguang, the game’s first-ever dual-form Void Hunter. Wielding her Honed Edge attribute, Ye Shunguang can enter an Enlightened Mind state to unleash devastating damage and apply enemy vulnerabilities, supported by her sword-flinging Bangboo companion, Sprout. Joining her is fan-favorite Zhao, the legendary S-Rank Ice Defense Agent, who blends deceptive charm with powerful squad-wide buffs—and will be available free to all playersduring the update.
The story pushes Proxies into the final chapter of the Waifei Peninsula crisis, where the Qingming Sword’s primordial power threatens catastrophic consequences. New mysteries unfold as the Lemnian Hollow expands, drawing players into the depths of the Lumite Mine with fresh mechanics and cooperative exploration.
Version 2.5 also introduces multiplayer combat in Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze, a new Proxy Outpost social hub, and significant quality-of-life improvements, including agent enhancements and streamlined material farming. With generous rewards, expanded gameplay, and a dramatic narrative payoff, Version 2.5 sets the stage for an explosive new year in New Eridu.
