Kimon Kirk and Robbie Fulks are thrilled to announce the release of “Dashboard Hula Doll”, the first glimpse of Kirk’s forthcoming solo album, Bikini Jardine, due Summer 2026.

Clocking in at just over two minutes, “Dashboard Hula Doll” tells the tale of a man teetering on the edge of ruin—his only constant, a grass-skirted hula doll perched on his car dashboard. With lyrics that humorously trace a hapless husband “half-a-way to Denver on a three day bender,” the track channels the playful, irreverent spirit of NRBQ guitarist Big Al Anderson, whose influence shines throughout the recording.

Written with alt-country icon Robbie Fulks, the song was captured live at LA’s Sunset Sound. Kirk handles vocals and electric guitar, Fulks contributes vocals and acoustic guitar, while Duke Levine, Paul Bryan, and Jay Bellerose round out the powerhouse rhythm section. The accompanying video, shot in the Southern California desert, mirrors the song’s offbeat energy.

Bikini Jardine promises a sprawling, 15-song journey, blending introspective acoustic work with electrified rock, co-writes with Aimee Mann, David Champagne, and Fulks, and guest vocals from Mann and Gaby Moreno. Featuring all-star collaborators from LA and Boston, the album nods to musical heroes from The Beach Boys to XTC, resulting in a record that balances raw energy, melodic invention, and storytelling wit.
