The magic is officially back. HBO has released the second official teaser for its highly anticipated eight-episode first season of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, with the series set to debut Christmas 2026 on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
Based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved book, the series returns to the beginning of Harry Potter’s journey—from an ordinary life with the Dursleys to his first unforgettable year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Along the way, Harry discovers friendship, adventure and a magical world hiding just beyond his doorstep, while a darker mystery begins to emerge behind Hogwarts’ enchanted walls.
Newcomer Dominic McLaughlin stars as Harry, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The impressive ensemble also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
The sprawling cast also features Warwick Davis, Johnny Flynn, Katherine Parkinson, Paul Whitehouse, Bel Powley and Anton Lesser, among others.
Francesca Gardiner serves as writer and executive producer, with Mark Mylod executive producing and directing multiple episodes. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and David Heyman are also executive producers.
With the second teaser now out, the countdown to Hogwarts has officially begun. Christmas 2026 can’t come soon enough.
