Cam Kahin has unveiled “where’d it all go wrong,” a cathartic new single and video teasing his debut LP CHUG, arriving January 23 via Dine Alone Records. The track starts in a hush and slowly tightens its grip before erupting into a wave of release—mirroring the emotional reckoning at its core. Directed by Adit Dixit, the video captures Kahin and his band in full roar at The Optimist Club, the first venue he ever played, just steps from where he grew up in Dunnville. It feels less like a performance clip and more like a living scrapbook.

“For the first time, I was addressing how I’d been perceived and the expectations that shaped me,” Kahin says, calling the song a long-overdue deep breath. That spirit runs through CHUG, a 10-track document of persistence, self-doubt, and stubborn hope from a 23-year-old navigating a chaotic world.

Following earlier singles “limbo,” “come around,” and “break or bend,” Kahin is gearing up for a Toronto release show on January 24 and a CBC Presents: Road to the Junos appearance in Hamilton on February 6. With towering choruses and raw, human production, CHUG signals a defining moment for one of Canada’s most compelling new rock voices.
