Seu Jorge has officially released The Other Side, a stunning new album that arrives after 16 years of creative development. Produced by Mario Caldato Jr. with orchestral arrangements from Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, the project marks one of the most ambitious moments in the Brazilian artist’s international career.

Blending Brazilian music traditions with jazz, bossa nova, cinematic soundscapes, and symphonic elements, The Other Side showcases a more reflective and mature side of Seu Jorge. The 11-track album includes standout collaborations with Marisa Monte, Maria Rita, Beck, and Zap Mama, expanding its global appeal while preserving its Brazilian soul.

The album’s lead Brazilian single, “Quando Chego,” co-written with Marisa Monte and Arnaldo Antunes, captures the emotional depth and sophistication that define the record. International audiences are being introduced to the project through “Girl You Move Me,” originally recorded by Canadian band Cane And Able.

According to Seu Jorge, patience played a major role in shaping the album. Recorded between 2009 and 2018, every detail was carefully refined to create a timeless listening experience. The result is an orchestral, cinematic journey inspired by legends such as Milton Nascimento, Tom Jobim, and João Gilberto.

Released through Amor in Sound, Black Service, and Phonomotor Records, with global distribution by The Orchard, The Other Side reinforces Seu Jorge’s position as one of Brazil’s most innovative and influential artists.

Recorded entirely at MCJ Studio in Los Angeles, the album symbolizes Brazilian music’s growing international reach. Seu Jorge performs multiple instruments throughout the project, including nylon guitar, percussion, and saxophone. With lush arrangements and personal storytelling, The Other Side stands as an achievement in his career.
