Rising Detroit rapper Skilla Baby expands his breakout mixtape The Coldest with a brand-new Deluxe Edition out now via Geffen Records. Listen HERE. He notably added four brand new tracks to the record, presenting a cohesive vision in the process. To complement its arrival, he dropped the music video for the track “Booby Trap On The River” (feat. BossMan Dlow).”

Among the expanded material, “Booby Trap On The River” opens up the Deluxe Edition. The song’s ominous piano loop practically chokes a tense beat, and he locks into a braggadocios back-and-forth with BossMan Dlow. On the hook, Skilla Baby proclaims, “In that Maybach, I be feeling like Rick Ross, baby.” The music video projects this energy on-screen including interactions with fans and scenes from a performance. Skilla Baby and BossMan Dlow command attention in every frame. Notably The Coldest just crossed over 100 million streams to date.

The glitchy bounce of “Body Bangin” brushes up against his lusty flow, “You look heaven-sent, baby Amen.” A trap stomp sets the pace for “RYN” where he turns up with DaBaby and Baby Money. Then, there’s “Soulja Slimm.” On the latter, he flexes alongside Rob49, comparing their chemistry to that of Juvenile and Soulja Slim and boasting, “They know me by first name at Saks 5th and Neiman Marcus.”

Speaking to his impact, Skilla Baby is officially a part of XXL’s coveted 2024 Freshman Class as this year’s “People’s Champ”—voted by the fans.
