Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is celebrating its first anniversary with its largest update yet, rolling out free for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Packed with fresh content, this Anniversary Update is designed to engage both long-time fans and new recruits with new modes, missions, and expanded customization.
At the heart of the update is the “Vortex Operation”, a high-stakes mission where players face the terrifying Mutalith Vortex Beast. PvP combat heats up with the “Bridge” arena on Avarax and the chaotic “Helbrute Onslaught”, letting players unleash destruction as a towering Helbrute. For PvE, the new “Stratagems” mode adds daily and weekly modifiers, keeping gameplay dynamic and endlessly replayable.
The arsenal expands with weapons like the Pyreblaster, Pyrecannon, and Power Axe, plus variants such as the Xenophase Blade and Combi Melta. A new threat—the Chaos Spawn, in three deadly forms—ups the challenge. Players also gain six Chaos Champion skins and expanded mix-and-match customization across classes.
Launching alongside the second Season Pass, new cosmetic packs for the Black Templars and Imperial Fists add over 40 customization items.
With balance improvements, quality-of-life tweaks, and a roadmap leading to new enemies, bosses, and the Techmarine class in 2026, Space Marine 2 is charging into its second year stronger than ever.
