HoYoverse is kicking off 2026 with Genshin Impact Version Luna IV: “A Traveler on a Winter’s Night,” arriving on January 14. This festive update celebrates Teyvat’s New Year with the return of the Lantern Rite, while pushing the story in Nod-Krai toward a dramatic climax.
Headlining the update is Columbina, the Moon Maiden, a 5-star Hydro Catalyst who specializes in powerful Lunar Reactions. She provides off-field support, enhances reaction damage through her Lunar Domain, and introduces new twists to familiar elemental mechanics. Joining her is Zibai, the legendary White Horse Adeptus of Liyue. This 5-star Geo Sword wielder excels at the new Lunar-Crystallize reaction, unleashing increasingly devastating attacks as battles intensify.
The main story reaches a turning point as the Traveler confronts Il Dottore, whose experiments with Moon Marrows warp reality itself. Completing the Archon Quest rewards players with a brand-new Traveler outfit and deeper insight into their growing power.
Exploration also expands northward in Nod-Krai with the reveal of Piramida, the Lightkeepers’ headquarters, alongside a new World Quest tied to the ongoing Wild Hunt.
Back in Liyue, the Lantern Rite brings mini-games, heartfelt wishes, and generous rewards, including 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates, a new Yaoyao outfit, and a free 4-star Liyue character. Version Luna IV promises a magical start to the year under the moonlit skies of Teyvat.
