The official gameplay walkthrough for The Legend of Khiimori offers a narrated, full-mission look at one in-game day as a Yam courier in 13th-century Mongolia. Presented by the game’s design director, the video showcases the early access build launching March 3 and highlights the title’s thoughtful, system-driven design.

Set in a vast open world inspired by the historical Mongol Yam network, you play as a young courier tasked with delivering messages and cargo across steppes, mountains, and deserts. The featured mission follows a complete delivery loop: accepting a job at a Yam station, selecting the right horse for harsh mountain terrain, balancing saddlebags, crafting cold tonics, and planning a safe route.

Traversal is deliberate and immersive. Dynamic weather, including snowstorms, directly impacts survival. Wolves stalk the path, forcing players to rely on tools and tactics rather than simple combat. Horse care is central—monitoring stamina and mood, feeding and brushing at camp, and ensuring your companion is fit for the journey.

Rewards come in money and “prestige,” raising your courier rank and unlocking better gear and opportunities. The game hints at broader systems: multiple route choices, spiritual locations, exploration of ruins, and deeper progression tied to breeding and bonding with horses.

Often described as “Death Stranding with a horse,” The Legend of Khiimori emphasizes planning, survival, and legacy. Instead of a rigid cinematic plot, your legend emerges from the roads you ride and the wilderness you endure.
