Families, start your engines! A high-octane animated film is revving up for a major theatrical debut this summer. Grand Prix of Europe, a spirited collaboration between Mack Magic and Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany, is set to premiere in Germany on July 24, 2025, and race into North American cinemas via Viva Kids on August 22.

At the heart of the film is Edda, a brave and determined mouse with one big dream: to become a Grand Prix racing champion. Voiced by Gemma Arterton, Edda’s journey takes off when she secretly enters the European Grand Prix disguised as her hero, the legendary racer Ed (voiced by Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Her goal? To save her father Erwin’s struggling amusement park—and maybe even Ed’s fading legacy.

This action-packed family feature blends thrilling race sequences with a deeply emotional story about family, friendship, and finding the courage to chase your dreams. Alongside Edda are a colorful cast of characters including Cindy (Hayley Atwell), the witty Enzo (Rob Beckett), and the menacing villain Nachtkraab (Colin McFarlane). In the German version, Enzo will be voiced by famed musician Jan Delay.

More than just a standalone adventure, Grand Prix of Europe brings beloved Europa-Park mascots Ed and Edda to the big screen for the very first time. As the park celebrates its 50th anniversary, this film is both a nostalgic tribute for longtime fans and an exciting introduction for new audiences. Producer Michael Mack has called the project a “very special birthday present” for animation lovers everywhere.

Directed by Waldemar Fast and penned by Kirstie Falkous, Jeffrey Hylton, and John T. Reynolds, the movie promises a blend of witty humor, heart, and dazzling visuals courtesy of Mack Animation.

Early previews have praised the film’s vibrant animation and universal themes. Whether you’re a fan of high-speed thrills or touching family stories, Grand Prix of Europe looks ready to cross the finish line as one of 2025’s most memorable animated releases.

With its mix of laughter, drama, and pulse-pounding racing, Grand Prix of Europe offers more than just a ride—it delivers an uplifting journey that’s sure to inspire viewers of all ages. Buckle up: this is one summer movie event you won’t want to miss.
