Troma Entertainment, the North American independent movie studio with the longest-running history, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year by bringing all four of their revolutionary Toxic Avenger films to the screen in mind-blowing TROMAzing Ultra High Definition.
The highly anticipated Toxic Avenger Collection will be available on home video starting August 29th. It boasts a remarkable 4K scan and restoration of each film directly from the original camera negatives, preserving the authentic 1.85:1 aspect ratio and enhanced with HDR visuals. The collection also includes English DTS 2.0 stereo audio for an immersive experience. Additionally, viewers can enjoy new introductions for each film by Lloyd Kaufman, the President of Troma Entertainment and the brilliant mind behind The Toxic Avenger. To top it off, this monstrous and TROMArific 8-Disc TOX SET is filled to the brim with TOXIC bonus features and even comes with a collectible Toxic Avenger postcard.
The story follows Melvin (played by Mark Torgl), a typical janitor weighing a mere 98 pounds, enduring constant bullying from the muscle-bound gym members. However, the world of the gym and the town of Tromaville, NJ are forever altered when a fateful incident causes Melvin to plunge into a pool of toxic waste. Emerging from the hazardous encounter, Melvin transforms into the iconic figure known as the Toxic Avenger. With justice as his guiding force, Toxie fearlessly safeguards the residents of Tromaville from the clutches of crime and malevolence, determined to protect the town he holds dear.
Notably, the films feature cameo appearances from acclaimed actors such as Marisa Tomei, Michael Jai White, Julie Strain, and Corey Feldman, along with appearances by A-listers including Hugh Hefner, James Gunn, Stan Lee, Kevin Eastman, and Eli Roth.
