Fans of armored warfare won’t have to wait much longer. On May 26, Wargaming rolls out World of Tanks: HEAT, a brand-new standalone free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter that aims to bring a faster, more action-focused spin to tank combat.

Set in an alternate post-World War II timeline, HEAT trades slower battlefield pacing for high-energy, team-driven encounters where strategy and quick reactions go hand in hand. The game launches across PC, Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and NVIDIA GeForce NOW, with full cross-platform play and progression available from day one.

Built on a new proprietary engine developed internally by Wargaming, HEAT promises upgraded visuals, immersive environments, and smooth performance across a broad range of hardware. The studio says the technology was designed specifically to support responsive gameplay while keeping battles visually impressive.

At launch, players can jump into combat using eight unique Agents divided into three combat roles: Defender, Assault, and Marksman. Each Agent commands a two-vehicle roster tailored to their battlefield specialty, adding a tactical layer to team composition.

The game also launches with 15 customizable vehicles, giving players the freedom to experiment with different builds and playstyles. Whether you prefer soaking up damage on the frontline or picking enemies apart from long range, HEAT appears ready to accommodate a variety of tactical approaches.

Battles will unfold across eight distinct maps featuring different biomes and visual themes, while four PvP modes — Hardpoint, Control, Kill Confirmed, and Conquest — round out the competitive experience.

With its blend of arcade-style action and tactical depth, World of Tanks: HEAT looks positioned to shake up the armored shooter genre when it arrives later this month.
