Chicago psych-rock trio Daisychain are back and louder than ever with their latest single, “Yeah,” a gritty, guitar-fuelled anthem built for the dog days of summer.
Blending the swagger of ’70s rock with fuzzed-out grunge textures, “Yeah” is equal parts cheeky and cathartic. Frontwoman Sophia Williams describes it as “a tongue-in-cheek song about trying to keep good energy when the world is heavy”—the kind of track made for blasting with the windows down while shaking off life’s negativity.
Produced, mixed and mastered by acclaimed Chicago producer Noam Wallenberg (Vulfpeck, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller), the single arrives after a whirlwind year for the band, who have spent much of their time touring across the US and making their European debut.
Daisychain’s momentum has been building since the release of their debut album, All In A Name, which showcased the trio’s knack for blending garage rock grit, psych influences and classic rock spirit into something distinctly their own. Their electrifying live performances have also earned praise for their infectious energy and powerhouse musicianship.
Made up of Nickole Regala, Frankie Sripada and Sophia Williams, Daisychain continue to cement themselves as one of Chicago’s most exciting rising rock bands. With more Midwest and East Coast tour dates lined up this summer, “Yeah” is the perfect soundtrack to what’s shaping up to be another huge season for the trio.
